Infamous Catering – Hire a Chef

What could possibly make a stay at Hidden Valley Yurts even more glamorous? Well not much! But for total relaxation and indulgence why not hire your own convivial, outdoor chef for the evening? Barney from Infamous Catering is ready to come and cook you a delicious meal. He can do everything from all-you-can-eat, pizzas or bbqs for families or groups to a gourmet romantic meal for 2, cooked right on your deck, pizza oven or camp fire and of course you’ll have no washing up to do! You can get as involved in the cooking as much (or as little) as you like, Barney is more than happy to discuss and show you how its done.

Breakfast Boxes & Meals From Blackberry Event Catering

Based just a mile up the road from us on a family-run farm, Kate from Blackberry Event Catering will prepare and deliver delicious, locally sourced, hot and cold meals for every occasion. The choice is yours – a beautiful antipasto platter, a delicate afternoon tea with homemade scones or a beef and chorizo chilli to feed a hungry crowd! Alternatively, allow her to deliver a DIY breakfast or BBQ hamper containing all you need to prepare a fantastic feast. Just get in touch for vegetarian, vegan, free from and tailor made menus.

Simon Birbeck is a local outdoor specialist with over 20 years experience offering foraging, bushcraft, survival skills, nature studies, eco therapy, mountain & hill walking and more. Simon can come to Hidden Valley Yurts and offers packages for families and groups. Spend a day with Wild Adventures to learn useful skills, explore the surroundings or have an adventure!

Archery with Borderlands Outdoor

Mobile archery range using modern, lightweight equipment, suitable for anybody from young children to adults, so anyone can have a go. Learn basic technique from qualified instructors and then move on to guided practice before adding a little friendly competition! Great fun and a great group activity.

Laserclayz Laser Clay Pigeon Shooting

A high-tech electronic version of the country sport of Clay Pigeon Shooting using a modified shotgun to fire an infrared beam at real clays launched from a real clay trap. No danger and no kickback, suitable for any age or ability, great fun and can be highly competitive. Portable system that can be played on site.

Wye Valley Falconry

Get up close and personal and enjoy an entertaining and informative experience handling and flying a mixture of birds of prey with Wye Valley Falconry. Their private encounters give you the opportunity to meet owls, hawks and falcons with falconer Luke Mammatt describing their behaviour, evolutionary features and hunting techniques as well as educating you about birds of prey throughout the world.

Strolls ‘n’ Stories

Enjoy unique walking experiences from Strolls ‘n’ Stories. Join Jan as she takes you on a walk through picturesque countryside. Stop at historical sights where she shares stories of the area as though she were a character from its past. As the colorful characters tell their unique stories, the magic begins and we are transported through time…. Jan can also give storytelling on-site, for a unique campfire experience!

She has a fantastic focus on achieving the best results for each individual client, making sure the treatment is tailored for maximum benefit. Forest of Dean and Wye Valley Tour Guides

This knowledgeable group of professional tour guides offer guided walks in the area, from about two hours to all day. They are happy to create bespoke tours for particular locations/subjects also and have guides that specialise in the folklore, history, architecture, and nature of the area. Your official tour guide will provide you with an informative yet entertaining experience that will leave you wanting to come back for more.

Rachel Shilston – Inspiring Creativity

Rachel Shilston is an artist, designer and creative facilitator, who is based in her studio at Hanley Farm Business Centre at Tidenham, on the edge of the beautiful Forest of Dean. Rachel offers holidaymakers the opportunity for some relaxing ‘down time’ through a range of creative experiences. Whether you are a family, group of friends, a couple or solo visitor, Rachel is sure to inspire creativity in either her studio, in the comfort of your holiday accommodation or out in the beautiful local woodland.

Hire a hot tub

Hot tub hire is £150.00 for a weekend or mid week. £250.00 for 7 nights (includes a water change if needed). How do you fancy relaxing in a tub of warm gently bubbling Welsh Spring water.

Foraging excursion with Gourmet Foraging

Join Chloé Newcomb Hodgetts of Gourmet Gatherings, a professional foraging company based here in bountiful Monmouthshire. Chloé is passionate about nature and the edible wild world surrounding us. She leads foraging excursions and experiences year-round both on-site and off-site, teaching guests how to find, identify and sustainably harvest wild foods, whilst sharing how to create delicious food and drink with each of the flavour-packed and superiorly nutritious wild ingredients you will encounter, whilst also sharing tidbits of their medicinal properties and associated folklore along the way. Join Chloé and her four-legged foraging buddy, Samphire, for an exciting and delicious immersion into her edible wild world!

Available for just £45 per person (2 person minimum) – all ages, up to two children aged 14 and under may attend for free with any paying adult.
