So if you’re looking to go glamping in Wales, to find a peaceful holiday hideaway and a relaxing escape with added comforts… then you’ve found the right place here. Our luxurious yurts give you a comfortable home away from home but with all the benefits of camping!
What is glamping?
The word glamping combines the words glamorous and camping. It’s a way to get close to nature but with a few more home comforts than traditional camping. A glamping holiday allows you to enjoy all of the benefits of outdoor living and being surrounded by nature, but with a nice comfy bed in your luxurious yurt all ready for you at the end of the day! Plus there are wood burners, furnishings, plenty of seating, bathrooms and a well kitted-out kitchen – everything you could need to put your mind at rest.
Whether you’re an experienced camper looking for a bit more comfort or someone who normally stays in a B&B but is looking to get closer to nature, glamping is a wonderful experience. You only have to read some of our testimonials to see the effect that glamping has on our guests!
So switch off your phones, ‘unplug your family’ (as one guest phrased it!), stoke the fires and get ready for stars brighter than you’ve ever seen and peace like you’ve never heard!
What is a yurt?
Yurts… who ten years ago outside of Mongolia had even heard of them?! The yurt, or ger as it is known in Mongolia itself, has been in use for thousands of years. A round tent covered with animal skins or felt (we use felt here at Hidden Valley!), it has a very unique design. The structure comprises an angled latticework made of wood for walls, a door frame, roof poles, and a crown in the centre. Traditionally the yurt would be portable, used by nomads, and designed to be dismantled and the parts carried compactly on camels or yaks.
Here at Hidden Valley Yurts all of our yurts are authentic Mongolian yurts. They are waterproof and thickly lined for cosy warmth on cooler days. Because of this insulation it takes less than half an hour for the wood burning stove to heat them up. The large crown in the centre lets in natural light when needed and the rain cap can be removed for star gazing on fine evenings.
Mongolian yurts have been growing in popularity in the UK over the last few years due to them being an ecologically friendly, attractive and cosy way of enjoying sleeping outdoors without the hassles of pitching a tent.
If you’re looking for a yurt holiday in Wales, you’ll love Hidden Valley Yurts. We’ve got everything you need for a relaxing, peaceful outdoor stay in the luxury of your yurt but with nature on your doorstep.
