Cool camping and glamping holidays for families, groups and couples... and those of us who like a touch of luxury!

Hidden Valley Yurts have six authentic Mongolian yurts (also known as gers) offering quirky luxury camping, without the usual shoulder to shoulder bustle of larger camping holiday sites. The yurts are set in four (sloping, sometimes fairly steep) acres of undulating field, and are protected by a tree lined valley with a stream running alongside the camp. With over 80 acres of woods and meadows at Hidden Valley there is plenty of the beautiful great outdoors for you to enjoy and explore on your holiday.

There is nothing else... no holiday cottages, no touring caravans and no pitch-your-own tents. There's no gift shop, no vending machine, no washing machines and no tumble dyers, although we do have a washing line if you need to hand wash.

Each yurt is beautifully hand painted and individually furnished in an eclectic mix of styles, which owes as much to an ethnic Mongolian yurt as it does to our passion for car boot sales and good old Ikea.

Comfort and luxury is what glamping is about... You will find lots of cushions and throws in your yurt to snuggle into; a communal basket of ponchos for chilly evenings and a large box of spare wellies and coats in case you've forgotten yours!

The six yurts sit on their own individual wooden deck and furnished with chairs, tables, benches, a built in stone BBQ and a wood store. Some yurts have chimeneas or fire pits. Inside each yurt the large ceiling crown lets in light and a rain cap can be removed for star gazing on fine evenings. Our yurts are waterproof and thickly lined with felt for cosy warmth on cooler days.

Your safety is important and each yurt has two outside doors which provide airy light and safety exits. The wooden floors are covered with coir matting with decorative rugs on top. All our yurts have wood burning stoves surrounded by a fire guard. We take your safety very seriously so each yurt is fitted with a smoke detector, carbon monoxide alarm and a fire extinguisher.

A good nights sleep is an essential element of luxury camping (glamping, cool camping - whatever!) and each of our yurts has a king size bed; a decorated Mongolian day bed and single wooden futons. Pillows are supplied - but not bed linen. You will need to bring your own duvet covers, bottom sheets or sleeping bags. See our 'what to bring list' for more information. The yurts are lit with a ring of fairy lights, tea lights in lanterns and a solar powered eco light - but if you are a keen reader or want to play games then you may wish to bring your own free standing camping lights or torches. We have two cots available and a high chair in each kitchen.
