A wonderful place...
'As a frequent visitor to Hidden Valley Yurts, I cannot over-emphasise what a wonderful place it is for a relaxing break with friends or family. The farm is easily accessible from main roads but, once you're there, is totally isolated from the noise of the outside world. The owners are the perfect hosts; always available but never intrusive. On arrival, you are immediately made to feel genuinely welcome and get the sense that you are staying in a place that is very much loved.
The site is wonderfully located in a beautiful valley and has exactly the right balance between being able to enjoy the rugged outdoors whilst still having plenty of hot water, proper cooking facilities, plenty of fridge space and electricity throughout...'

It was time for three 'oldish' friends to meet up again...
'Only this time we had 2 husbands, a long term partner and 5 kids between us (we have been busy in the last 5 years). We chose to meet up at Hidden Valley Yurts and I must say what a fabulous decision it turned out to be! Camping doesn’t get better than this. We knew we were on to a winner before we even got there. Pre-booking and after-booking communication first class. We were given a really warm welcome when we arrived at the car park, a fun trip on the 4x4 took us down to the yurts and our Tesco delivery not only received by Amanda but packed away in the fridge/freezer and cupboards!
The Yurts were gorgeous; plenty of space but reassuringly snugly with an array of blankets and cushions. The fairy lights that decorated the interior complimented the authentic Mongolian furniture. The communal facilities have to be seen to be believed. There is everything you could possibly want (quite a few items I don’t actually have at home). The pizza oven was the icing on the cake especially as one of our party was a fully paid up bona fide Italian. There is so much for children to do without even trying just good old fashioned outdoor fun.
Items I’d recommend you take:
- Rubber ducks for your own improvised duck dash in the stream
- Toasting fork for marshmallows, crumpets and toast on the large camp fire you are so going to build!
- Flashy rave torches and glow sticks to attach to your kids so you can see them in the dark.
Would I recommend this as a holiday to you? Too right I would, do yourself and your family a big favour and try a yurt camping holiday at Hidden Valley Yurts. Actually Shhhhh.... I want to keep this place a secret.'

Heather - thank you for such a lovely review. I'll get some toasting forks straight away! I can't think why I haven't bought them before. Thanks for the great tip!

Sitting around the campfire ...totally relaxing
'My friend and I took our children and friends, (ages 10 to 12) to stay at Hidden Valley Yurts. It was exactly as described on the website; totally relaxing and you can do as much or as little as you like. We enjoyed walking, playing in the stream, alpaca whispering, playing board games, making pizza's, toasting marshmallows, swinging on the rope swings, sitting around the campfire, walking to the pub (for the best chips ever) and playing cards... chillin' in the yurt.
Talking and listening to the children laugh without TV and games console distractions was awesome! We can't wait to go back next year, thanks guys for everything.'

Romantic and restful break...
'Our first yurt holiday exceeded all my expectations and my partner and I had a romantic, and restful time away from 21st century pressures, although I admit I brought my mobile and the signal was great!
Staying in a yurt was like no other camping holiday either of us had experienced before. We loved the homely touches - the candles, the slippers, the rugs and the ponchos - very nice touch. Sleeping in a yurt was like being in another world, and time really did seem to stand still. If only!
We met some lovely people, but we certainly didn't feel crowded at any time. Thank you Amanda for making us feel so welcome. You're a kind and warm host...and you are right about the stars. Amazing!'

Tucked away on a peaceful farm, five luxurious yurts freckle the green face of a picturesque Monmouthshire valley. Lovingly decked out by the owners with comfy futons, crockery and a central wood-burning stove complete with kindling, the Mongolian yurts overlook a stream and are surrounded by trees. The facilities are top-notch and guests can relax and roam about the surrounding 80 acres as they please.
