Hidden Valley Yurts offer luxury yurt holidays for families and groups. Glamping (as it's often called) is a perfect get away holiday break for those who want to enjoy the simplicity of a camping holiday with no tent to put up and with the luxury of a wood burning stove and a proper bed to sleep in. A yurt camping holiday at Hidden Valley is all about peace and quiet – no radios, ipods... just the sound of the stream and the birds (and a bit of mooing from the adjacent farm) – guitars and singing around the campfire welcome!
Glamping for families and groups of friends
Yurt camping holidays are cool... At Hidden Valley Yurts we have six lovely Mongolian yurts sleeping between 5-7 people. A large group can book as many yurts as they need. Cool Camping for cool couples
Glamping a deux on a yurt holiday is a great choice for a romantic weekend break, or mid-week holiday, for couples. Stop all the clocks, take time out to be with each other and enjoy the romance of an authentic Mongolian yurt in the beautiful Wye Valley. On clear nights you can lie in your yurt on a large comfy bed and gaze through the crown at the stars...and at each other!
Children have a fantastic holiday in a yurt... They soon forget the TV, Facebook and their favourite electronic games and enjoy getting wet and muddy in the stream, building dens and collecting firewood, toasting marshmallows on the campfire, beating the adults at board games, painting and drawing, visiting the alpacas and Jacob sheep and generally enjoying all that nature has to offer.
Cooking and bathing is a pleasure... Our beautiful yurt campsite has a well equipped outdoor covered kitchen and bath/shower room as well as a spacious communal deck area. If you want a more private holiday you can slip away to your own yurt, light the barbecue and chimenea and dine in candlelight on your own private deck. Someone will always want to light a camp fire or cook delicious 'yurt-made' pizzas in the outdoor pizza oven. We have a spacious tented dining area with a large table, barbecue and outdoor kitchen sink - everything you need to hold your own glamping al fresco party. Yurts 1 and 6 have their own private kitchens and loo.
The campsite is set in 70 acres of woods and meadows belonging to our farm. Our six yurts are located in a 4 acre south-facing field protected by a tree lined valley with a stream running along the length of the yurt campsite. The grass in the yurt field is left long, but you can wander through mown paths enjoying the wild flowers, butterflies and insects and a fantastic range of birds. There are natural winding paths through the woods, but no paved areas, no tarmac and no formal gardens - so you are safe to kick a ball and let the children run free. Expect some mud though as there is a stream to ford - so pack your wellies or crocs!
During the day there is so much to discover. Explore our hidden valley, follow the footpaths from the farm to the border country of Wales and England and the beautiful Wye Valley (AONB). You might like to go canoeing on the Wye river, cycling in the Forest of Dean or visit the famous 13th century Tintern Abbey. The children will love exploring Chepstow, Raglan and Usk castles, Tintern Old Station and Puzzlewood. For those of you who like a good hike the Brecon Beacons are in easy reach.
It's wonderful to hear our guests chatting and laughing together, enjoying a relaxed camping holiday atmosphere. New friendships are often made by the camp fire, but even if you are looking for a quiet holiday there is enough privacy and space around the yurt campsite to feel peaceful and secluded.
