Arrival Details and Summary of Facilities

Arrival

Your yurt will be available from 3.00pm at the latest. It would be very helpful if you let us know your proposed arrival time as we will try and light the fire for you if it is cold/wet. The 4 x 4 luggage transport is only guaranteed to be available up to 7.00pm - after that we supply wheelbarrows for you to transport your luggage.

If this is your first visit it is very important you arrive at least an hour before dark - there is no lighting between the car park and the yurt field and some nights it can be hard to find your hand, never mind a yurt! Don't be put off - just think of the lovely star watching you can do once you get to your yurt.

The kitchen has 2 LPG 4 ring cookers, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, ice maker, an espresso/cappuccino maker, toaster, kettles etc. All crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils are provided. We will provide you with a cupboard in the kitchen to keep your food in and the kitchen has a large communal fridge and freezer.

There is a shower, aqnd a bath with a shower over it, plus two loos, in the centre of the yurt field. Water is heated by solar panels and topped up with an immersion heater. Drainage is into a reed bed. We do have composting loos as well, but would request that you use these only as a last resort as our newly planted reed bed needs feeding!

Our water is from a spring - so you will be drinking, washing and even flushing the loo with 100% pure Welsh spring water. Why not find a bottle and take some home?

Each yurt has a barbeque and we supply charcoal made on the farm - but please note it is not like commercially supplied charcoal so can be a bit tricky to get going so you may prefer to bring some easy light charcoal.

We supply all paper, sticks and wood for the fires - your first basket will be in the yurt, refills available in the wood store in the field.

The yurt has tea light lanterns and rechargeable lanterns (can be recharged in the kitchen) and one wind up/solar lantern and a wind up radio. We supply throws, rugs, ponchos, and cushions and there are hammocks, loungers and tables and chairs dotted around the campsite.

We have a fairly well stocked games cupboard, lots of board games, lego, duplo, farmyard, books and plenty of outdoor games like badminton, cricket, croquet, etc - all we ask is that parents supervise the use and return of these and let us know if there are missing bits!

Re-cycling - we have bins for compost, glass, tins, plastic and cardboard and would be very grateful if you would use these - we empty them daily.

Check list: Don't forget to bring
